Whether you require a new logo or a new website, when meeting with a Graphic Designer it’s important to be organised and give them as much information and detail as possible to ensure you end up with a design that you are happy with.

We’ve put together a list of a few helpful points to take into consideration when meeting with a Graphic Designer:

Background to your business – your main services/products, a bit of history about business or any other information you think may be interesting and useful.

• Know who your target audience is – their age, gender, location etc.

• Know how you want your business to be perceived – do you want to come across as a corporate company or a more fun/relaxed business?

• Know who your main competition is – put together a list of your competition and some examples of their work. This allows a Graphic Designer to take on board who you are competing with and ensure you stand out from the crowd.

• Colour schemes – if you already have a logo and would like the rest of your design items to follow suit, allow the Designer to have a good quality copy to be able to match colours. If you don’t have a logo be sure to give the Designer some indication of colours that you like.

• Other sites you do/don’t like – having examples of design items you really like the look of, or items you don’t like can be very useful to a Designer.

• Budget – Having a reasonable idea of a budget is key.

• Be open to new ideas – you may know exactly what you want and how you want it which is great, but sometimes Graphic Designers are able to come up with alternatives which may be more beneficial to you and your business so have an open mind!
